Busy Week

1. We are building a storm shelter out at the biologist house. The church requires storm shelters in areas that need it. Dad got the idea from Todd to pour slabs on the ground out of concrete and then stand the walls up and put on the lid. Here are some pictures.

2. Because there has been no rain, there is no food for the baby calves or the Mommas.. The mamma cows are already bred, so to nurse and be pregnant and not have sufficient green grass is too stressful for the mamma cows and would cause calving issues in the spring, Brother Young decided to wean the babies now instead of September. They are going off to feed yards to get fat and butchered.

3. Look at what we woke up to one morning! 

4. Have you heard of dung beetles? I hadn't.  They roll poop into a ball and the female lays her eggs inside the poop ball. YUCK! 

5. I have been sorting thousands of nuts, bolts, and washers. Here is a picture of what I have done so far. I am about half done. Did you know there is fine thread, course thread, Metric, square head, carriage bolt, bla-bla-bla. I didn't take a picture of the shop floor. There are piles everywhere. 

6. We always hear about a fox being in the henhouse. But look what Brother Young found eating his hen eggs. This guy was a big"un.

7. We are on rotation to clean the church so the senior missionaries and another family cleaned the church Saturday and then took the young missionaries out for lunch. One of the young missionaries asked us if we had any rules, I told him the only rule we have is not to kill our husbands. 😂HEE HEE HEE. We then went grocery shopping and back to the ranch. 

We are having a hard time keeping the camper cool enough so we put sun screens on the south facing windows, hope this helps. If it is 104 outside, the coolest we can get inside is 87. I guess it's better than 104 inside!

Our tires are really taking a beating out here. We rotated the tires because we had a split on the front one, then we woke up Saturday and had a pancake on the front. Had it fixed and it is now leaking again. UGG, will go back to Childress tomorrow and try again. That's all the news for this week.
