The Elders main job on the ranch is grubbing. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you read that?

No it's not digging up those nasty white juicy worms. It's removing acres upon acres of  juniper trees. Each juniper tree drinks 33 gallons of water a day and there are millions on the ranch. The grass doesn't grow under the trees, so by removing the junipers it brings up the water table and also allows more grassland for the cattle. The ranch owns three track hoes and they run 5 days a week from 7-4. They have grubbed 16,000 acres and have 12,000 more to do.
