Entering the Ranch
Saturday March 26, 2022
Do you guys remember dad always saying "If you keep the top half full the bottom half will take care of itself." Well... we were getting low on fuel about an hour out of Childress. I suggested we stop and get fuel, "Nah we can make it a little bit farther". So we get to another little town I suggest again we should get fuel. Being the wonderful companion that I am !! I gave a mild suggestion and let him use his free agency. Do I need to tell you the rest of the story?!!!! Eight miles out of Childress we ran out of fuel, if you think fuel is expensive where you are, the rescue fuel was $30.00 dollars a gallon. I honestly could not help myself I had to say "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!" Well so much for the wonderful companion! Anyway he made some phone calls and found a garage that would bring us five gallons of fuel. While he was making these phone calls I gave myself a timeout, OUTSIDE.
The story gets even better, while we were eating dinner that evening I look up and the guy that brought us the fuel came in with a friend. I have no doubt but that we paid for their dinner. But when we went to pay for our dinner the waitress said someone had picked up our tab. I asked who but she wouldn't say. Ronnie thought a big family sitting behind us were members of the church and it could have possibly been them, but???

So you know those people we thought were members? Turns out the dad is our branch president so Ronnie put on the spot and he confessed to buying our dinner.
There was about 90 people at church today. The missionaries on the ranch make up 14 of those people. It is a wonderful branch and will be fun getting to know the families.
We walked all over the ranch today and saw the cutest baby goats, a tiny pony named Whoey, lots and lots of horses, and cows everywhere. We watched the head cowboy Blake and his wife Bailey breaking a new horse and conditioning two others. They are really good riders. I will send pictures tomorrow of all the critters.
